A SIMPLE LIFE

It may look like evidence, something everyone is looking for, the satisfaction of a peaceful living. You simply go with the flow and enjoy every moment that life is giving you, all the tiniest miracles that make your day special.
This has always been really important to me. A key goal I should say. And this is why it has been present in my photography work since the beginning.
Simple doesn’t mean poor or boring, it means rare and precious. It also means fragile because you don’t have full control. This is life, everything can happen and ruin all your efforts to make it simple.
This is a kind of resistance, an utopia I dragged along my entire life. I know that it is almost impossible but I still want to believe it can happen. I’ve seen it many times and captured it on film. Just to remember it, to be able to say “I’ve seen it”.
Then, I need to be patient, create the conditions for “A Simple Life” and get ready with the same camera and the same film stock I was using 30 years ago. I like the idea of making pictures in the exact same way. This is not nostalgia, I simply like the idea that technology is not everything and shouldn’t drive our lives.
